Jim Carruthers

Originally from St. Louis, MO, my family relocated to Leesburg, FL in 1953, where my grandfather began his career as a realtor, initially in Clermont and then Leesburg throughout the 1950s to 1970s. His passion for real estate inspired me to follow in his footsteps, blending my career in education with a deep commitment to the real estate business. I am a proud graduate of Leesburg High School, Lake-Sumter Community College, and the University of Florida. After a fulfilling 30-year career as a public-school teacher and coach, I retired in 2007. During my time in education, I also spent 23 years officiating Florida high school baseball and football. As a lifelong athlete, I have enjoyed participating in handball, tennis, racquetball, and golf, and have completed over 100 10k races.
